Lehigh Learning Academy Day Treatment Program Goals
To be the preferred provider of alternative education in the Lehigh Valley.
Help students make and sustain lasting changes of behavior.
Help students successfully return to public school within six months to one year after enrolling at Lehigh Learning Academy.
Provide students with a quality education and help them earn credits towards high school graduation while improving their behavior.
Create a setting where students can develop and maintain leadership skills.
Teach students to utilize restorative practices to foster a positive learning environment.
Encourage students to explore education and employment opportunities post graduation.
Teach students the social skills needed to succeed in an education and/or work setting.
Teach students the importance of establishing and sustaining healthy relationships with peers and adults.
Lehigh Learning Academy Day Treatment Goals for Clients
Have a 90% attendance rate.
Improve classroom behavior by participating and accepting teacher directives without challenge most of the time.
Work up to academic level and complete all school work in a timely manner.
If the client is on probation follow all probation guidelines and remain arrest free.
Remain drug and alcohol free.
Build positive peer relationships and avoid negative peer influences.
If living at home earn trust with family members.
Improve self esteem by participating in school activities.
Learn to deal with anger appropriately by expressing feelings rather than acting out.
Learn to express thought and opinions using feelings words.
Learn to take ownership for actions and accept the consequences both positive and negative.
Learn to accept feedback and criticism appropriately.
Goals for each client will be determined by the client, parent or guardian, referral source and Lehigh Learning Academy counselor within thirty days of the client’s admission into the program. Based on these goals an individual service plan will be created. The goals will be reviewed on a monthly basis to measure progress. Every six months the client’s service plan will be reevaluated with the client, parent or guardian, referral source and school counselor.
